I’m a big guy. Which either makes it totally understandable or totally not understandable that I have no use for “The World’s Largest (fill in the blank)” stuff. Even as a big little kid, this stuff seemed kind of weird and wasteful to me. There was a giant ice cream cone on the way to my grandparents’ place. Now, don’t get me wrong, I always wanted an ice cream cone, but that giant cone in front of the store just made me kind of mad.

But this is not about ice cream. It’s about loons. Giant ones. In this (by no means comprehensive) list of “8 of the World’s Biggest Roadside Attractions,” two of the entries are loons. That means a whopping 25 percent of the total list is dedicated to giant loons. More
